I stepped on his toe because
, well, if you'd seen that toe, you'd have jumped on it too. Its jump-on-ability was beyond question, and he often wore steel toe-cap boots in order to save the poor apendage from repeated stampings. This didn't stop me from jumping on
my neighbours cars because I almost got arrested by
an earnest citizen with an overzealous sense of duty. But I pointed out
the mole on Grandma's face at the dinner table, and all at once, everybody
began to stand an applaud for the wonderful performance they had just seen.
